Ministry of Innovation and Technology and the Korea International Cooperation Agency
Hosted by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Dire Dawa city, the training and competition that was given for a week in innovative ideas from Somalia, Harari and the Dire Dawa administration has ended.
In the program, H.E Dr. Bayissa Bedada,of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology said that, when we support young people who have creative ideas that can be turned into businesses, we know that technology and innovation have a significant role in improving the lives of citizens and economic growth.
The Honorable State Minister said that the different incubation centers that we are building at the national level show that the government has paid a lot of attention to innovation and technology.
Minister of State said that the government is working based on knowledge. In the past years of government change, the government has been working to accelerate the transition to a creative economy.
Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Project Action Officer Insun Min stated that the organization is focusing on formulating incubation programs from the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, development and construction of the incubation center, as well as collaborating with UNDP on the nin credit fund. .
15 of the 115 projects submitted for competition from all three regions have been selected and given special training, and of these projects submitted by lemar learning, loca and ICT consultant services have won.
The winning projects will receive 250,000 to 100,000 in cash, respectively, and special monitoring and support from Innobiz-K Ethiopia.
Mr. Kedir Jewar, Mayor of Dir Dawa City Administration, who attended the event, said that in our efforts to transform our city into a smart city, creative works have great support.
The Honorable Mayor appealed to the youth to participate in the Ethio Coders training brought by the government to develop their creative ideas and make them users and producers of technology.
In the forum, it was stated that the Ministry of Innovation and Technology will continue its support in various parts of our country to produce youth who are not only technology users but also technology producers.
