Innovation and technology sector six months plan implementation review has been held.

The Ministry of Innovation and Technology has conducted a six month plan implementation evaluation.

In the review, the activities that have been done in the last six months at the ministry office, space science and geospacial institute, bio and emerging technology institute, Ethiopian technology authority, Ethiopian intellectual property authority and Ethiopian information technology park are presented.

During the implementation month, it has been noted that there have been focus on expanding the sector's operational systems and regulatory works, development of digital economy and modern services, national science technology and innovation infrastructure construction works and national research development and technology transition works.

In the plan to improve the service of government and business that is supported by technology, it has been mentioned that 861 institutions have entered e-commerce and 68 e-commerce platforms have been built to make this happen.

According to the plan, to deploy private sector institutions in ICT and digital industries, 474 qualification certificates have been given. Address system platform base map of large cities including Addis Ababa has been done.

It has been stated that instead of organizing the research data on the country level, it is planned to conduct 3000 researches and to organize the information on 3150 research projects that are currently underway.

Instead of stretching the system of the sector, the draft declaration of Startup, the draft declaration for the establishment of the National Council for Science Technology and Innovation and the draft declaration of the establishment of Ethiopian Intellectual Property has been mentioned for the concerned body.

To make the activities that are being done in the sector effective, the minister, the management and staff of the ministry and the affiliated institutions work diligently.
