Dr. Yishurun Alemayehu stated that Ethiopia's digital transformation journey is being worked on to ensure success and to build a country that is competitive globally.
A national digital technology development team led by the ministry of innovation and technology has been established and a job placement platform has been held at the ministry office.
The platform aims to evaluate our country's digital economy based on the 2025 "Gov tech maturity index online survey" criteria required by the World Bank and enable it to be competitive with other countries.
Minister of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Yishurun Alemayehu, has realized that Ethiopia's digital transformation journey is successful and to build a country that is competitive globally.
In the effort to achieve the digital technology transformation strategy 2025, the team has started to work by attracting investment, highlighting the good look of the country, creating job opportunities for citizens, creating a suitable system in every sector, measuring the results of the digital transformation plan, and studying the level.
Aklewum said that our country is competent with other countries in digital economic development according to the criteria of the ‘Gov tech maturity index online survey’ the survey should be presented carefully, accurate, truthful and knowledge based.
On the stage, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Labor and Skills, the Ministry of Trade and Regional Relations, the Minister of City and Infrastructure Development, the Government Procurement and Property Authority, the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, the Ethiopian Investment Holdings, the Information Security Administration, the Artificial Intelligence Institute, the Federal Civil Service Commission, the National ID Program, the Ethiopian Media Authority and the Addis Ababa City Administration were represented. Officials and professionals are in attendance.
The group includes members from federal institutions and it has been pointed out that Ethiopia will prepare a survey on the ‘‘Gov tech maturity index online survey’ and present information according to the international standard of testing, evaluating and organizing our country’s status in digital technology services.
