Dr. Yishurun Alemayehu stated that we should expand the results gained from the digital transformation that is being implemented by Ethiopia and use them for continental and regional connections.
The ministry of innovation and technology in Ethiopia has discussed with the head of visa governance solution and the director of visa in sub-Saharan Africa on areas that can help boost the digital economy.
Minister of Innovation and Technology Dr. Yishurun Alemayehu has explained the changes and future plans that Ethiopia has brought about in information technology infrastructure, electronic government, electronic commerce, digital payment, digital tax administration, electronic receipt, electronic signature and so on the digital ID system.
Aklew Ethiopia has said that with the telecom reform that will make Ethiopia's digitalization, working closely with visa companies is important.
The director of visa card in Ethiopia Mr. Yared Ale has stated that he is planning to increase the number of visa card users in Ethiopia with the financial sector.
Ms. Phyllis Kamaun, the head of visa solutions of Sub Sahara, who said she understands the positive changes brought by the reform implemented in Ethiopia, said that she will use the opportunity to expand the Ethiopian government's commitment to digitalization to other African countries to create regional digital connections and expand digital services.
Ms. Phyllis who decided to discuss with the institution that owns the digital transformation and with the relevant financial and business government and private institutions, said that it is necessary to expand the unorganized digital startups that are seen in different places to the continental and continental level.
During the meeting, it was suggested that a group of professionals will be formed to work on different areas of cooperation and organize national workshops and involve all stakeholders and partners to implement.
