Dr. Belete Molla Getahun, Minister of Innovation and Technology, highlighted the government’s prioritization of technology as a driver of economic growth. He emphasized the Ministry’s efforts in building infrastructure, developing human capital, and establishing policies, strategies, guidelines, and regulations to strengthen the sector.

He also noted that the Ethiopia Coders Training program has significantly contributed to enhancing the digital economy, simplifying the country’s complex financial systems, improving access to various services, saving time and resources for citizens, creating job opportunities, and equipping the youth with digital skills.

Dr. Belete stressed that science, technology, and innovation are fundamental pillars for inclusive economic development. He called for collective efforts to build a technologically advanced Ethiopia—one that can serve as a model for other nations.

The report also addressed key areas such as the global economic outlook and its implications for Ethiopia, macroeconomic reforms, infrastructure and project execution, sustainable development, social inclusion, national sovereignty, peacebuilding, diplomacy, and cooperation—highlighting issues that require further attention.
