Korea-Ethiopia digital government cooperation forum was held in Addis Ababa.
A digital government forum has been held in which the Ethiopian and Korean governments have participated in which different ministries, government organizations and Korean delegates, ROK&KOICA staffs and embassy can help achieve digital transformation.
The forum aims to strengthen the long term friendship between the two countries and work together on digital government cooperation.
Minister of Innovation and Technology Dr. Yishurun Alemayehu said the Korea-Ethiopian Digital Government Cooperation Forum shows our joint commitment to advance digital transformation, boost innovation and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Daetaw, who said South Korea has become a global benchmark in digital governance, said that it is a crucial time for our bilateral journey to improve governance, enhance public service delivery and bring comprehensive and sustainable development by using the power of digital technologies.
Minister Dataw said that the achievements of e-government, citizen-centered service and the creation of the government sector are encouraging and educative. He said that there is a lot to learn from Korea's integrated fiscal administration systems such as the fiscal information system and the national digital budget and accounting system that show best practices in transparent and accountable public finance.
The ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Ethiopia and the permanent representative of the African Union Jung Kang said that Korea will look at Africa's development potential and work towards building new strategic cooperation and create a future that is based on mutual development, sustainability and unity.
Korean Interior and Security Ministry Director Yungjun Park said that the Korean government will work together to help Ethiopia become a more developed country in digital economy and to be competitive in the world.
The forum is not only about building bilateral relations but also about shaping a digital governance agenda that can be implemented across Africa and the wider global south.
