Space science and geospatial institute has handed over plasma and router CNC machines to five regions.
Space science and geospatial institute (SSGI) has delivered modern plasma and router CNC machines to five regions: Amhara, Tigray, Sidama, Afar and Benshangul-Gumuz regions.
The director of the institute Mr. Abdisa Yilma stated that the institute is developing different technologies to create job opportunities for youth. The modern machines developed by professionals are a big step to increase the manufacturing and technology capacity of the country.
The director said that these CNC machines will play an important role in supporting industrial development, vocational training and research works in the host regions. The director said that it will encourage local innovation and technology capability to match Ethiopia's needs.
Apart from calling for job opportunities for youth, the institute will monitor and support the machines that have been seized by regions.
Regional officials who received the machines thanked them for the support given to them and said that the machine plays a big role in creating job opportunities for youth, capacity building and technology transition.
It has been stated that a manual about the use of the machines has been prepared and training has been given to professionals from the regions for the past two days.
