The 2024 Ethiopian National Robotics Competition was held by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.

The competition was organized by STEMpower, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology and  Addis Ababa University  Science and Technology in collaboration with Google, Camden Education Trust and WRO as external partners. The purpose of the program is that among the more than 600 high school students trained by STEMpower in 40 STEM centers over the past two months, 37 robotics inventions will come from all regions of the country to compete in a national competition where the winners will receive recognition and awards. At the event, the Minister of State for Innovation and Technology, H.E Dr. Yeshurun Alemayehu , said that the national robotics competition is more than just a competition to inspire our youth to be creative; The state Minister said it is an inspiring platform for problem solving and developing technical skills. The state Minister added that the forum will create a deeper understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) which is crucial for youth to engage in the innovative field of robotics to accelerate economic growth and address the challenges of our time. The event was attended by university leaders, industry experts and creative experts, including the representative of Google Africa. Honorable Claver Gatete, executive director of the African Economic Commission, who attended the 2024 Ethiopian National Robotics Competition organized under the theme of "Earth Allies," said that such events will continue to strengthen Africa's digital transformation journey. The team that wins this national competition will represent Ethiopia in the international robot competition that will be held in December 2024 in Turkey
