The Ministry briefing bout «Digital Ethiopia 2030».
H.E Dr. Belete Molla, Minister of Innovation and Technology, has given an explanation to questions raised by journalists about «Digital Ethiopia 2030».
The successful completion of «Digital Ethiopia 2025» strategy has laid the foundation for «Digital Ethiopia 2030», and explained in detail the works that are being done for the development of the country's digital economy and inclusively for all Ethiopian citizens to benefit from «Digital 2030».
The minister explained that «Digital Ethiopia 2030» strategy is a holistic way to create an Ethiopia that maintains its digital sovereignty, based on innovation and technology.
The minister who stated that strengthening citizens' digital skills is crucial for the digital economy transition, pointed out that skill development works will continue.
The minister who stated that the «Digital Ethiopia 2030» strategy is a big national plan aimed at changing the development direction of the country based on technology, pointed out that the main principle of the strategy is to actively involve all stakeholders.
They mentioned that one of the key points of the strategy is ensuring the sovereignty of citizens' information, and to achieve this, they stated that they are working on strengthening the capacity of institutions and protecting national information locally.
The Startup Declaration has a strong foundation to make Ethiopia a startup center in Africa, encourage innovation and increase the participation of the private sector.
Stating that one of the important issues for startups in the past few years is the creation of digital skills, he said that the number of startups and citizens who have developed and utilized digital technologies for the success of the «Digital 2030» strategy is expected to see a high number of people who have developed digital skills by developing and using digital technologies.
