The Ministry of Innovation and Technology consulted with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) on issues of cooperation.

The Ministry of Innovation and Technology jointly advised the University of Electronics Science and Technology of China (UESTC) to continue the science scholarship program that was discontinued. The joint consultation aims to produce sufficient and qualified human resources in the field of science, technology and innovation by facilitating short and long-term training and working together. Dr. Simenew Keskis, the Minister's Technology Adviser of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, said that more than 100 undergraduate students from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) have benefited from the Betere Science Scholarship program and 69 of the graduates have been directly awarded Master's degree scholarships by the university. The consultant added that he thanked UESTC for its help in providing educational opportunities to Ethiopians by accepting many second and third degree students and pointed out that it should be continued by expanding this in the future. In addition to creating different educational opportunities, regarding the training provided by Burayur Special Gifted School, UESTC is an institution with extensive experience in the field of talent development. Prof. Guangchun Luo, Vice President of International Relations of the University of Electronics Science and Technology of China (UESTC), said that we are ready to renew our previous relationship and identify issues that can bring us closer together. During his visit, he introduced the opportunities of the scholarship program in his university and expressed his willingness to facilitate the opportunity to the Ministry of Innovation and Technology as well as the employees of the respondent institutions. It was also indicated that they will prepare, sign and implement an agreement document that will enable them to work together by strengthening the collaborations that have been started and identifying additional areas of cooperation.
