The modern information access center (IAC) built in cooperation with Ethiopia and South Korea has been inaugurated.

The Ministry of Innovation and Technology in collaboration with the National Information Society Agency of the Republic of Korea (NIA) officially launched the modern Information Access Center (IAC) built at the Ministry's office today.

The FDRE House of People's Representatives, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Human Resource Development, Employment and Technology Affairs, Honorable Dr. Bethlehem Lakew said that the center will create a world class training environment for university graduates and young innovators by focusing on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing.

The vice chairman of the standing committee explained that the center will work to ensure inclusiveness by making people with disabilities and different sections of society access digital devices easily. This is a great help to the goal of the country to ensure that no citizen will be left behind from using the digital age.

H.E Dr. Belete Molla, the minister of innovation and technology, explained that the center will play a great role in building the digital economy by opening new opportunities for innovation and technology development.

H.E Dr. Belete said in his speech that the center is very important to achieve Ethiopia's 2030 digital strategy and to support the goals that were dreamed by the Startup declaration in 2025.

The minister explained that this center is not an ordinary internet device, it is a center of knowledge where advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and cyber security are applied and ensures the country's digital sovereignty.

He thanked the South Korean government and the National Information Society Agency (NIA), and said that the project proves the strong partnership between the two countries and the commitment of Korea to share its digital development experience with Ethiopia.

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Ethiopia, H.E. Kang Jung, Ambassador of the Republic Of Korea) has stated that the center is a crucial step to accelerate Ethiopia's digital transformation journey and strengthen the holistic cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador confirmed that the Korean government is committed to sharing its digital development experience with Ethiopia, and expressed his belief that this center will be a key platform especially for youth and entrepreneurs to gain technological knowledge and skills.

Finally the minister of innovation and technology has called on the youth of Ethiopia to learn, try and use this center for leadership. The Ministry of Innovation and Technology gave recognition to the professionals and Korean partners who have worked hard to make the center a reality.
