The ministry of innovation and technology has advised to work together with Visa international services on digital finance and new opportunities for cooperation.

The consultation is aimed at creating new opportunities for cooperation in international digital finance services and strengthening the digital economy.

Minister of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Yishurun Alemayehu, stated that the Ethiopian government is interested in promoting digitalization cooperation based on equality and shared benefits.

To ensure the success of digital transformation, many works are being done in the legal framework, infrastructure and manpower building, Minister Deetaw said a lot of efforts are being made to digitalize national jobs and to bring financial products and new services to Ethiopia.

Visa Inc. South and East Africa Region Vice President Michael Berner has expressed his interest in making international visa services available in Ethiopia and the following countries.

The vice president said that visa payment solutions, to enhance technologies and digital literacy in Ethiopia will implement international and regional best practices.

To digitize government services, increase financial inclusion, improve the agility of fundraising and the overall digital transformation agenda of Ethiopia, an agreement has been reached to support and work together on priority projects and action plans of the digital strategy.
