Biona Emerging Technology Institute's research results 9 patents and two utility models intellectual property protection certificates have been received from Ethiopian intellectual property authority.
At the gathering, Minister of Innovation and Technology Deeta Baysa Bedada (Dr.), Director of Armawer Hansen Research Institute Afework Kasu (Prof.), Director of Biona Emerging Technology Institute Kasahun Tesfaye (Prof.), Ethiopian Intellectual Property Authority Director Woldu Mesel and other stakeholders were present.
According to the Minister of Innovation and Technology, Deeta Baysa Bedada (Doctor), one of the areas given attention by the government is bio-emerging.
They pointed out that work is being done to create a suitable curriculum for research development and research and necessary legal preparation is being made.
The institute has said that it is producing research results and producing alternative products not only for domestic but also for foreign markets.

11 researches found on intellectual property protection today said that they are among these works, which can replace imported products.
The institute has explained that not only published research results but also published 435 researches in international journals.
Research pointed out that it is crucial to build an economy based on knowledge; further research will be done focusing on alternative products that are of economic benefit to the country.
According to the director of the Ethiopian Intellectual Property Authority, Woldu Semel, intellectual property protection is an important tool for the transition of technology.
Universities and research institutes are doing their part in this way.
Research works say access to intellectual property protection will help expand alternative products and export products.
They pointed out that in order to be competitive in the international and continental market, focus should be worked on creating and registering intellectual property.
