Minister of Innovation and Technology Dr. Belete Mola has discussed with Mastercard Foundation about digital Ethiopia, job opportunities creation and related issues.

The discussion was held with Mastercard Foundation Ethiopia Director Mr. Samuel Awwe about the cooperation to take Ethiopia's digital transformation to the next level.

The main focus of the discussion was that the successful completion of the digitalization projects of government offices with the special support received from MasterCard Foundation and the work that has been created in the field and the future work that will be done by the two institutions.

During the discussion, Minister of Innovation and Technology Dr. Belete Mola said that he will greatly improve the quality of services provided to citizens by implementing digitalization and increasing efficiency through the projects done by MasterCard Foundation.

Minister Ayayizawum thanked Mastercard Foundation for its contribution to supporting Ethiopia's digital transformation strategy and for its contribution to promoting digital inclusion and creating job opportunities for young Ethiopians.

The minister noted that the contribution of Master Card Foundation to Ethiopia's digital development is crucial so the cooperation should be continued.

Mr. Samuel, the director of Mastercard Foundation Ethiopia, has expressed his appreciation for the recognition and said that the foundation is committed to supporting Ethiopia's digital transformation journey.

Mr. Samuel pointed out that a strong and continuous cooperation model is needed to achieve common goals. We believe that we can create a strong opportunity for Ethiopians in the technology sector by working together with the government and stakeholders.

Mastercard Foundation has participated and financed in the formation of Digital Ethiopia 2025 strategy, Venture Meda Startup Program, Covid 19 Health Information Call Center and Government Digital Office Projects, and Mastercard Foundation Ethiopia Director Mr. Samuel Lele has been recognized by the minister for his contribution.
