The Eastern and Southern African Common Market (COMESA) is about to start a project to provide African cloud services that will benefit the member countries.

In order to implement the project, it received funding from the African Development Bank to conduct a pre-project implementation market analysis study.
The coordinators of the project are discussing with the heads of the relevant offices in Ethiopia and also discussed with the leaders of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology.
The African Cloud Services Ecosystem Project aims to digitize critical sectors such as education, health, economy, agriculture, government services and provide reliable cloud services across the continent.
Minister of State for Innovation and Technology Honorable Yishrun Alemayehu (PhD) confirmed that the African Cloud Service Project will support the construction of the digital economy started by Ethiopia and will provide the necessary cooperation for its implementation.
The Hon'ble Minister of State said that the cooperation of Africans in digitalization will enable the modernization of Africa's technological environment and emphasized the importance of cooperation in all sectors. The project is aimed at providing reliable cloud services to the member countries by addressing the problems of ICT infrastructure, high cost of cloud services and not being able to host data centers due to power outages.
