A space policy forum has been held that aims to enhance Africa's role in space management

The forum organized by Space in Africa was attended by professionals from different African countries online and innovation and technology minister Deeta Dr. Yeshiru Alemaye also participated in this forum.

Dr. Yishirun Alemayehu said that African countries should manage space debris and develop regional cooperation to protect the continent's growing space sector.

Ethiopia has emphasized that the space administration that is responsible for solving the increasing risk of satellite debris from time to time is committed to developing technology and international cooperation.

Ethiopia is actively looking for continental and diplomatic ways to participate in international space administration.

To ensure Africa's long term space sustainability.

In order to monitor and reduce space debris, African space debris monitoring system should be extended.

The minister who pointed out that strong legal frameworks are needed to control satellite disappearance under the African Space Agency (AfSA) said that the solution to remove debris is to invest in new technologies.

In the discussion, it has been pointed out that in order to have enough manpower to develop spatial knowledge in Africa, capacity building programs should be started through training and research.

As space movement continues to expand in Africa, the negotiators stressed that in order to prevent developing countries from carrying the burden of space debris, there is a need for fair and just sharing of responsibility on the international space administration.
