A cyber security seminar organized by Ethiopia and Israel has been held.
An awareness raising seminar was held on "Cyber security trends and developments" organized by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology and the Israeli Embassy.
The Ministry of Innovation and Technology ICT and Digial Economy Sector state Minister Honorable Mr. Muluken Qere, who made the opening speech stated that it is crucial to work with Israel, which has vast experience and great potential in cyber security, to achieve the vision of "Digital Ethiopia 2030".
The cooperation of the two countries will not only accelerate the digitalization of Ethiopia's economy, it will play a significant role in creating a secure digital environment that is suitable for foreign investment and also protects financial and strategic infrastructures from cyber attacks.
It has been stated that to prevent cyber attacks and build a strong technological base, self-reliance and learning from international experiences is not an option.
Israel Ambassador to Ethiopia Honorable Dr. Avraham Nguise, citing that cyber security is the basis of national security and economic strength, Ethiopia should protect its digital assets in its journey of digital transformation.
Following the security challenges Israel has faced over the past two years, the ambassador stated that it has strengthened its defense capability in the government and private sector by seeing the cyber platform as a major war front.
Citing that the success of Israel's cyber security is based on qualified manpower, cooperation of institutions and creative culture, they proved their readiness to implement this experience with the current situation in Ethiopia.
The research has seen that the historical relationship between the two countries will open a new chapter and help secure the digital future of Ethiopia.
