H.E Dr. Belete Molla Getahun, Minister, Ministry of of Innovation and Technology, welcomed Mr. Lian Hao, Deputy Secretary General of International Internet Conference (WIC) in his office and discussed on the International Internet Conference.

The consultation focused on the preparations and processes that will enable the successful completion of the international internet conference that will be held in Addis Ababa in September 2026.

The minister, Ministry  of Innovation and Technology H.E Dr. Belete Molla said that Ethiopia has experience in handling many international events efficiently. The ministry will use this opportunity to make all the necessary preparations for the success of the conference.

For the success of the conference, the minister stated that the Ministry will work in coordination with all the stakeholders, has realized the importance of making Ethiopia a preferred conference tourism destination.

International internet conference WIC's vice general secretary Mr. Lian Hao (Mr. Lian hao) has stated that technical works to hold the conference in Addis Ababa have started and will work in cooperation soon with focus on the preparation.

This conference, which has been held every year since 2012 in China, is a big platform with members of more than 200 global technology institutions such as Google, IBM, Nvidia and Alibaba.

Since the stage will be attended by international actors, scholars and senior officials, it is expected that it will open a new door for Ethiopia's technological transition and investment expansion.
