H.E. Minister Frehiwot Tamru Sets Strategic Direction for the Ethiopian Technology Authority to Protect People, Property and the Environment and Deliver Measurable Contributions to National Development
[3:24 AM, 11/3/2026] DenberG: During her visit to the Ethiopian Technology Authority, accompanied by the Ministry’s State Ministers and Directors General of accountable institutions, H.E. Frehiwot Tamru emphasized the need to clarify the Authority’s statutory mandate and strengthen its institutional capacity to enable safe technology development and use.
The Minister called for clearly defined responsibilities and coordination with other regulators, stronger legal frameworks and laboratory capabilities, greater public awareness, and accessible digital services.
