An agreement has been signed to digitize the contracts of farmers and agricultural businesses and financial access information.

The Ministry of Innovation and Technology has signed an agreement of understanding with Agri Wul and a sister company of Bebez Optimax.

The purpose of the agreement is to digitize the contracts between the farmers and the agribusinesses and financial access information.

The Minister of Innovation and Technology Dr. Belete Mola has said that in order to achieve the digital Ethiopia journey, a strong move is being taken by involving the private sector in all sectors.

The minister who said he will work with this agreement to support the journey of digital Ethiopia by digitizing one million agricultural contracts in the next two years said it is a great deal to change the agriculture sector by combining it with the national goals of Digital Ethiopia.

According to the agreement, it will work to enhance the work done in the agricultural sector and facilitate processes for all stakeholders and ensure access to modern information.

Mr. Zerubabel Kibebe, the founder and managing director of Agri Contracts, stated that the service will implement a user-friendly digital information system that is compatible with the Ethiopian Agricultural Contract Law and the needs of other stakeholders.

Training and support to stakeholders to use the technology efficiently, providing capacity building projects in the agricultural sector, supporting the development of technology in agribusiness, improving the current of the operations and conducting continuous research.

In order to improve the lives of millions of farmers, ensure financial access and strengthen the digital economy of the sector, it has been pointed out that the agriculture sector will not only organize up-to-date information but also increase the competitiveness of the sector.
