One purpose of the change is to strengthen rule of law. Officials perform their duties as assigned by law. Others, in turn, will replace them and achieve national goals through generations. This is how nation building succeeds.

On behalf of the Ethiopian government, I would like to express my gratitude to His Excellency Sahle Work Zewde, who has served Ethiopia as president for the past six years.

On the other hand; Today, I express my best wishes to the Honorable Taye Atsik Selassie, who accepted the responsibility as the President, for a period of responsibility in which he will serve the country and the people in a better way.
