Ministry of Innovation and Technology held a joint discussion on 2018 budget year plan execution and next directions.

The Ministry of Innovation and Technology has conducted an in-depth review of the 2018 fiscal year plan implementation and discussed the next 2019 fiscal year strategic directions.

Minister Deetawa Dr. Fozia Amin who gave a speech at the opening of the stage said that the ministry office has achieved a lot of projects according to their plan.

Aklewum pointed out that creating manpower capacity and comfortable working environment is crucial to achieve the institutional reform, widening the success achieved now, digitizing government services next year and expanding information communication technology (ICT) infrastructure are the main focus areas.

Solomon Aynemar, the CEO of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, has realized that in order to be competitive in this era where the world is advancing rapidly in the field of technology, we need to work with focus and cooperation on issues that can grow the country's economy.

It is reported that 420 businesses have joined electronic shopping in the digital transformation sector in the financial year, through "Mesob One Center Service" it has been possible to reach 32 percent of online government services and 48 million of national ID (Faida) registrants.

In the last year, the number of mobile users reached 97 million and internet users reached 61 million. A successful research and technology transition work has been done where 183 new technologies flourished and got support from startups and created 18,173 new jobs.

The ministry office not only provides educational materials to 1,200 students to fulfill its social responsibility, it has also completed building 12 houses for the disabled in Harar city with a cost of 26 million birr and handed over to the disabled. There is a report that they planted more than 50 thousand trees in different areas.

Mr. Azmach Desalegn, the executive of strategic affairs at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, has stated that by presenting in detail the results gained from the efforts made to achieve our plans, a better result is expected by strengthening this.

They said that if we work with plan by expanding the strong aspects, we need to work harder to put the result we want for the economic development of our country.

Finally, the senior leaders who have completed the discussion successfully by strengthening the registered strengths, improving the operational system in the new fiscal year, providing smooth and integrated services and continuing the reform work that has been started.
